Crouch kicks off 2023 Sprint Car season at Volusia with USCS

Barberville, Florida (1/30/2023)…. Brenham Crouch started his 2023 sprint car campaign in a record breaking way on Friday evening. The 17-year-old went Quick Time, breaking the Volusia Motorsports Park 360 sprint car track record, laying down a 14.160.

Crouch’s fast lap led him to a fourth place finish in his Heat Race, and nearly a Top 10, placing eleventh in the 25-lap feature event.

Saturday’s portion of the Southern Sprint Car Shootout went the same as the night before. Brenham was fastest in his Qualifying Group, and went on to place fourth in Heat 2.

The Lubbock, TX hot shoe wheeled the Indy Race Parts - HI-Plans Building Division #1C to the eleventh spot before the end of the evening.

Despite barely missing the Top 10 both nights Crouch and the rest of the CMS Racing team both showed front running times in Qualifying; with the first event of the year behind Crouch is looking forward next weekend at Hendry County and rest of the trip.

“I feel like we have speed for sure. We are just trying to learn the technical stuff as a team, I feel this is what this trip is for us ultimately. Heading into Hendry County, I think we are ready to try and make some noise. It is a smaller race track, and we don’t have to worry about some of the technical things like wing speed. I really want to work our way onto the top of the podium throughout this swing through the south.”
